PRESS RELEASE

May 28, 2015: Organisational changes to simplify and streamline operations at Samskip first announced in May 2014 have borne fruit with the formal launch of Samskip Logistics.

samskipSamskip Logistics brings all of Samskip's dry and reefer forwarding activities under a single business unit, including Samskip Icepak Logistics and forwarding services previously operated through country organisations branded under Samskip. Cold storage and terminal business FrigoCare has also been brought under Samskip Logistics management, while maintaining separate branding. Samskip's participation in Silver Sea and Silver Green has also been placed under the management of Samskip Logistics.

Ásbjörn Gíslason, CEO of Samskip Logistics, says: "We have successfully integrated the Samskip forwarding business and Samskip Icepak Logistics into one strong, coherent Samskip Logistics unit, creating a robust organisation with offices and agents in 30 countries across five continents. We see these changes as a prelude announcing our intention to grow the global logistics solutions offered by Samskip further, both through organic growth and via strategic acquisitions. We look forward to developing our services as opportunities for growth present themselves."

Samskip is a global logistics company offering transport and related services by land, sea, rail and air with a particular focus on cost efficient, sustainable and environmentally friendly transport.

With an annual turnover of around Euro 560 million, Samskip is now one of the larger European transport companies, with offices in 24 countries in Europe, North and South America, Asia and Australia, employing approximately 1,300 people around the world.

Samskip is headquartered in the Netherlands but was originally founded in Iceland in 1990.
