SEATTLE: August 17, 2016 Boeing and Nok Air have partnered with international non-profit Vital Voices to carry 30 boxes of relief items to Thailand on the airline's delivery flight of its 22nd B737-800.

Vital Voices identifies, trains and empowers emerging women leaders and social entrepreneurs around the globe. The items were delivered to The Children's Advocacy Center Thailand (ACT), an organization dedicated to improving the lives of abused children and youth throughout the country.

Nok Air 2"We are honored to play an important role for the well-being of our children and youth," said Nok Air CEO Patee Sarasin. "Providing timely supplies to those in need will affect the lives of many in the region. Nok Air is proud to continue playing a vital role in cultivating the well-being of our community."

The flight is part of Boeing's Global Corporate Citizenship program that includes carrying aid on behalf of charities in conjunction with airline customer delivery flights.

Sam Whiting, director, Global Corporate Citizenship, Boeing Commercial Airplanes commented: "We look forward to working closely with Nok Air and non-profit organizations like ACT in Thailand to identify future opportunities."

Based in Bangkok, Nok Air is a low-cost airline that operates seven Q400 NextGens, 21 Boeing 737-800s, and two ATR 72-500s. The carrier  has two more Next-Gen 737s and eight 737 MAX 8 aircraft on order.

In May the airline joined with seven low-cost carriers (LCC) in the Asia Pacific region - Cebu Pacific, Jeju Air, NokScoot, Scoot, Tigerair Singapore, Tigerair Australia and Vanilla Air - to form the Value Alliance.

The eight carriers, who collectively serve more than 160 destinations with 176 aircraft throughout Asia Pacific, are linked by Air Black Box (ABB), a UK-based company specializing in cloud based multi-carrier interlining and booking systems.

"The technology enables us to interface with other airlines within the Value Alliance, including those using different systems – even on routes Vanilla Air may not itself serve to connect Japan to the rest of Asia Pacific," said Katsuya Goto, president of Vanilla Air.

Sarasin added: "The opportunity enabled by ABB and the Value Alliance to offer ancillary products through interline channels is a significant benefit over other partnerships, given LCCs typically earn 10-25 percent of their revenues from such items."
