"Building one of the largest cargo terminals in the world and operating new-generation, high-performance aircraft reflects our commitment in expanding and supporting the exponentially growing imports and exports of our country in particular and the African continent in general," said airline CEO Tewolde GebreMariam. "The commitment to purchase two 777 freighters is expected to boost the Ethiopian Cargo & Logistics Services," he added.

Lion Air MAX 10Other new Boeing aircraft orders announced in Paris include 50 737 MAX 10 from Lion Air with a list price of US$6.24 billion. President Edward Sirait commented: "The Lion Air Group was first in the world to put the 737 MAX 8 into service and the first to order the 737 MAX 9, and we continue to lead the way again with this commitment for 50 737 MAX 10s and help launch the latest version of the 737."

Boeing has also announced the launch of AnalytX, bringing together the work of more than 800 analytics experts across the company to transform data into actionable insights and customer solutions.

"The amount of data created today is unprecedented. But it's not about the data on its own, it's what you do with it," said Ted Colbert, chief information officer and senior vice president of Information & Analytics.

As part of the launch, Boeing announced five agreements to provide customers with AnalytX solutions including AirBridgeCargo to deploy Fuel Dashboard services across its entire fleet; Airplane Health Management (AHM) predictive alerts on China Airlines' fleet of 737NG and 747 freighters; Delta Air Lines using AHM on its B717 fleet and Korean Air on its B787 and B777 fleet; and Turkish Airlines deploying Jeppesen Fatigue Risk Management and Boeing Alertness models to improve flight safety and working conditions for the airline's pilots and cabin crew members.
