COPENHAGEN: June 30, 2017. A.P. Møller-Maersk reports "great progress" in restoring its IT infrastructure following the 'Petya' ransomware cyber attack on June 27 and expects to be back to normal by July 03.

MSC aerialMaersk Line says it has fully restored business operations in the ports of Algeciras, Tangier, Callao Lima, Mumbai, Itajai and Buenos Aires and is delivering imports at Pier 400 in Los Angeles and Port Elizabeth, NJ.

The company said it was still working to reopen its Maasvlakte II terminal in Rotterdam: "Our overriding goal is to get back to an absolutely safe operation. To successfully serve our global customers we run 1,500 applications which need to be brought up one by one in the correct sequence and enable 49,000 end-users across 500 locations."

M2 service partner MSC was not the subject of an attack and says it "offers full support to Maersk Line" as the two box lines work to transmit vessel bayplans, load lists and Customs data between them.

Meanwhile Maersk has been accepting bookings via the ocean transaction data platform INTTRA, forms on its website, and through EDI.

INTRAA connects 225,000 shippers, brokers and forwarders to 50 carriers and handles over 700,000 container orders a week, representing more than 25 percent of global ocean container trade.
