The joint vaccination offer by BLG LOGISTICS, EUROGATE, North Sea Terminal Bremerhaven and GHBG at the Columbuskaje in Bremerhaven is a great success: "Since January 3 we've already vaccinated 1,400 employees," reports Dr. Peter Prince von Coburg, a doctor and the Managing Director of occupational medicine and technical safety service AMD Hanse.

Despite this, it's usually possible to get a same-day appointment via the hotline.

A lot of preparation work was done in December. "In the first few days, we handled 1,400 to 1,500 callers per day. Demand was high because the offer had been so well publicized," says the Prince of Coburg. He confirms that sufficient vaccine supplies (Biontech/Pfizer and Moderna) are available. Every day, up to 120 first, second and booster jabs can be given to the employees of the port companies.

The special advantage at the Columbus Cruise Center Bremerhaven (CCCB) is that there is practically no waiting time. Appointments are far enough apart to prevent any lines forming. And the light, airy rooms also offer the best possible protection from the highly infectious Omicron variant. The vaccinated employees get their vaccine certificates straight away.

The vaccination center at the Columbuskaje will remain open until the end of January, or even longer if demand continues. After that, vaccinations will be given in the occupational medicine walk-in station. The port companies also offer their employees in Bremen and Hamburg vaccinations.
