KRASNOYARSK, Russia. April 01, 2019. The FESCO Transportation Group (FESCO), operator of the Port of Vladivostok, and Rail Cargo Logistics-RUS are to support exports by rail from Russia to China on behalf of the Russian Export Center (REC).
FESCO and Rail Cargo Logistics-RUS say they will determine the best transport routes and provide container equipment and access to terminals for exports from Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk to China via rail crossings and the Port of Vladivostok.
According to REC general director Andrey Slepnev, shipments will include everything from food to household chemicals to building materials and machine-building units. “We have routes from Kaluga Region and Krasnodar region to China and we expect that the inclusion of Novosibirsk Region and Krasnoyarsk Krai in the project will increase the number of companies exporting non-primary goods to China," he explained.
"We already have services from Krasnoyarsk and Novosibirsk to China through Vladivostok. Last year we launched regular trains from Krasnoyarsk to Chengdu and XI'an through Kazakhstan and Mongolia,” said FESCO president Alexander Isurin. “We expect that cooperation with REC and Rail Cargo Logistics-RUS will contribute to the optimization of logistics schemes and increase the volume of containerized cargo transportation," he continued.
“The main product exported from Siberia to China is timber. Launching new services will allow us to enlarge the range of non-primary goods," added Alexander Baskakov, director of Rail Cargo Logistics-RUS.
