ABC 747-8 2MOSCOW: November 17, 2015. Boeing has delivered two more 747-8 freighters to AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC) as part of an MoU between the manufacturer and Volga-Dnepr Group that includes providing Antonov-124-100 aircraft for Boeing's logistics needs.

Denis Ilin, executive president for AirBridgeCargo Airlines said: "This is a celebration of a successful partnership with Boeing which will enable the airline to continue providing its customers with the exceptional air cargo services they are used to."

The new aircraft will operate between Asia and the U.S. - where the carrier has launched a new Hong Kong-LAX-ATL service twice a week - and brings to eight the number of B747-8s operated by the airline.

In Latin America, where ABC has yet to operate scheduled services, Boeing says airlines will need over 3,000 new airplanes valued at $350 billion in the next 20 years.

Van Rex Gallard, Boeing Commercial Airplanes vice president Sales for Latin America, Africa and Caribbean said a six percent annual increase in passenger traffic reflects the region's faster economic growth than the rest of the world.

"Commercial aviation and economic expansion go hand-in-hand in this region and around the world," he added. "Passenger traffic grows as economies grow, and economies grow as commercial aviation grows. Every dollar that commercial aviation adds directly to a country's GDP generates four times as much activity in the larger economy," he added.

Of the 3,000+ new airplanes, Boeing expects 83 percent will be single-aisle airplanes and 340 to be wide-bodied.
