BEIJING: December 15, 2015. China Postal Airlines (CPA) joins Hangzhou-based YTO Airlines as the launch customers for Boeing's Next-Generation 737 freighter conversion program. 

The CPA order of 10 737-800 BCF aircraft - plus seven B757-200s that the airline plans to convert into freighters - marks the largest purchase order in the airline's history. Terms of the deal were not released. The Beijing-headquartered company currently operates 14 B737-300s, eight B737-400s and four leased B757 freighters.

Boeing expects China's express market to be one of the world's fastest growing air cargo segments over the next two decades as domestic China and intra-Asia markets expand 6.7 percent and 6.5 percent per annum respectively.

"With its express market growing at a double-digit rate fueled by e-commerce, China has surpassed the United States to become the number one e-commerce market in the world," said Ihssane Mounir, senior vice president, Northeast Asia Sales, Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
