Fuel a more sustainable future

NCA HahnLUXEMBOURG: November 29, 2017. Cargolux has signed a new code-share and capacity swap agreement with Nippon Cargo Airlines (NCA) between Europe and Japan with effect from April 2018.

Cargolux will now be able to utilize NCA's flights from Frankfurt Hahn to Narita while NCA has reciprocal access to Cargolux's flights from Luxembourg.

As a result, Cargolux plans to introduce a weekly flight from Luxembourg to Tokyo Narita and Cargolux Italia will stop flying to Narita but continue its services to Osaka's Kansai airport.

In October 2015, Cargolux Italia and NCA signed a cargo codeshare agreement for flights from Milan Malpensa to Kansai and Narita. This was in addition to two weekly flights to Osaka, four from Milan Linate to Narita plus three weekly Cargolux flights from Luxembourg to Komatsu - which the airline says it now plans to develop further.

With cheaper landing fees and a 3,000 meter runway, Komatsu is only six hours by truck from Tokyo, four hours from Osaka and around three hours from Nagoya. The airport operates a 4,000 square meter bonded warehouse together with Nippon Express, Kintetsu and Yusen.
