Swisslog autostoreWith space for over 25,000 pallets, Swisslog said the facility will provide warehousing and picking services as well as door-to-door transport of sensitive and temperature-controlled products for customers in both the Swiss and international health sectors.

"Swisslog has already implemented a number of logistics systems for leading international pharmaceutical companies," commented Daniel Hauser, managing director Central Europe & Middle East Region of Swisslog Warehouse and Distribution Solutions. "That's why we know how to comply with the strictest quality requirements and legal regulations, especially in this sector."

Supported by Swisslog 'Syn Q' warehouse management software, the new building will also include five Vectura stacker cranes and automated vertical roller conveyors.

"This next-generation technology will significantly enhance our supply chain capability in Japan," said Boston Scientific Japan president Yusuke Naiki. "It will improve our distribution agility and enable quicker response to customers.

"I am really proud that [we are] taking the lead in modernizing the medical device supply chain and have no doubt that our collaboration with Swisslog will be successful and ultimately lead to better patient care," he added.
