ZURICH/ PYEONGCHANG, South Korea: February 16, 2018. Project logistics specialist Natco AG, part of the British TransGlobal Group, has delivered all the broadcast equipment for the Swiss Radio and Television Corporation's (SRG) coverage of the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in South Korea.

Natco, a logistics partner of SRG for a decade, shipped some equipment in ocean containers from Antwerp to Busan, and the balance as air cargo from Zurich to Seoul for on-carriage to the House of Switzerland and various Olympic event sites in PyeongChang.

The SRG produces the broadcast signal on behalf of the Olympic Committee for all alpine ski races at the Games, as well as more than 1,000 hours of studio time at the House of Switzerland, the meeting point for athletes, media, business and political figures.

"The transport for the Olympic Games in South Korea came with challenges in several respects. The project was complex due to the combination of various transport elements and the time schedule for the construction of the studios was very tight," explained Natco CEO Joerg Roehl.

"Being able to meet the deadlines in spite of temperatures of up to minus 22 degrees Celsius required careful planning and the right kind of material - and most of all, a lot of dedication from all parties involved. The Olympic spirit was clearly there already. The fact that we can watch the result of our transport project live from South Korea is a special experience," he added.

Natco is responsible for the return logistics operation at the end of the Games on February 25, including packaging, cargo security, Customs facilitation and final delivery to the SRG.

The company also provides logistics support for the SRG's coverage of FIFA (International Federation of Association Football), UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) and FIS (International Ski Federation) sporting events.
