THY Cargo B777FISTANBUL: April 17, 2018. Turkish Cargo is to begin cargo services to Quito, Karaganda (Kazakhstan), Tokyo, Navoi (Uzbekistan), Abu Dhabi, Addis Ababa and Misurata (Libya) by the end of this year.

The airline flies currently to 302 destinations in 121 countries, including 85 cities with a fleet of 18 freighters.

Turkish Airlines reported a 29.3 percent year-on-year rise in March cargo and mail traffic to 117,506 tons flown and a 37.6 percent increase to 312,456 tons for the first three months of 2018.

Citing WorldACD data, Turkish Cargo says it has now reached 7th position in the Dutch analyst’s league table of top air cargo carriers – up five places in February as a result of a 37.8 percent increase in flown cargo compared to the same month last year.

The cargo division of Turkish Airlines says specialist cargo traffic grew 52 percent in February year-on-year as Valuable shipments jumped 45 percent, its Vulnerable business increased 18 percent, Perishables rose 64 percent, Pharma increased 53 percent and Dangerous Goods 50 percent, compared to the same month in 2017.

During the first three months of 2018 Turkish Cargo announced new services to Taipei, Miami, Toronto, Zaragoza, Houston, Bogota, Liege and Brussels, Muscat, Mexico City and Vilnius, Lithuania.
