MIAMI, FL: June 28, 2018. Amerijet International has appointed Jon Olin senior vice president for Corporate Strategy and Administration and Derry Huff as vice president Sales and Marketing from his current role as vice president Strategic Initiatives.
Jon Olin (right) will be responsible for developing and guiding strategic growth opportunities for the company. He has over 20 years of aviation and logistics experience in law, risk, regulation, and general management.
According to Amerijet CEO Vic Karjian, “Olin rounds out a highly experienced, industry-diverse executive team for Amerijet. He brings to the company a unique strategic outlook as well as significant integrator and all-cargo ACMI aviation industry experience, adding to our foundation of strong leadership that will drive Amerijet’s current and future growth initiatives.”
In his new role, Derry (left) will oversee Amerijet’s sales, marketing and development including domestic and international scheduled air and RFS services, interline, charter sales, new route/market development and the management of corporate level relationships with its major forwarder accounts.
“Derry will continue to make an important contribution to the company in this new role. Being with Amerijet for almost 30 years, he has seen the company change and grow and will continue to use his vast amount of experience to propel us to the next level,” added Karjian.
Prior to joining Amerijet Olin spent 15 years with Deutsche Post DHL and as its Chief Administration Officer was part of a successful corporate turnaround and sale of private-equity backed Southern Air. Jon was a Fulbright Scholar to Spain, and holds a BA from the University of Iowa, his Masters in Transnational Business Practice from the University of the Pacific and a Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University.
Derry joined Amerijet in 1989 as a Second Officer and subsequently became a B727 First Officer and Captain as well as Chief Pilot and Director of Operations. In 2008 he moved from operations to Business Development to support the commercial growth of Amerijet. He holds an MBA from Florida International University and a B.Sc. from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
