Fuel a more sustainable future

MIAMI: July 12, 2018. Amerijet International Airlines is to adopt an indexed model in calculating its fuel surcharges.

Amerijet B767 landingVice President of Sales and Marketing, Derry Huff, said the move will "more accurately" follow fuel markets.

According to Huff, “this will provide both Amerijet and our customers a fair and transparent methodology which will rise and fall with the market.

"Our fuel surcharge will trigger when the jet fuel spot price exceeds US $1.445 per US gallon. When the price is below this number there will be no additional fuel surcharge.”

The programme will follow the fuel prices published by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), indexed to the U.S. Gulf Coast (USGC) spot price for kerosene-type jet fuel.

This index provides the fairest and most transparent means of calculating fuel cost changes for all parties.

The new fuel surcharge model will become effective August 01, 2018 and will apply to all shipments. The surcharge will be published via the Amerijet website which will be updated bi-weekly (every other Tuesday).
