MONTEVIDEO: July 31, 2018. Temperature-controlled transport operator va-Q-tec has expanded its reach into Latin America with the opening of a new head office in Montevideo.

Va Q TecThe new site will function as a key hub for va-Q-tec’s rental services and as a fulfillment station from July 2018 onwards. The German Stock Exchange listed company, which recently opened a new regional headoffice in North America, will invest into its Latin America market expansion in coming years.

“The opening of our new Latin American facility is a testament to our commitment to grow the business and expand our local client base” said Dr. Joachim Kuhn, va-Q-tec’s founder & CEO. “Montevideo, being a central distribution hub for the Southern Cone, with state-of-the art airport facilities and easy access to major roads across the country as well as in close proximity to other pharmaceutical centers in Latin America, is the perfect location for this mission. So, with our new hub we will offer our current and future customers the best solutions for their temperature controlled logistics needs.”

With sustained growth in Uruguay’s service sector and several public initiatives to attract foreign investments, Uruguay’s appeal to international companies continues to grow. In particular, pharmaceutical manufacturers are increasingly choosing the country as the location for their regional distributional centers. va-Q-tec says it will be well placed to provide services to this cluster of pharmaceutical companies, as well as to provide high technology containers for clients in Uruguay, Chile, Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil .
