DUBAI: October 01, 2018. flydubai Cargo is to provide customers with door-to-door delivery of pets and other live animals to over 90 destinations in Africa, Central Asia, the Caucasus, Central and South-East Europe, the Middle East and the Indian Subcontinent.

flydubai animals 2The move follows the airline’s successful transportation of two Saluki Dogs and seven Falcons for a recent competition held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan in association with the Department of Culture and Tourism- Abu Dhabi.

In August Emirates SkyCargo launched a similar door-to-door service in partnership with Snoopy Pets, a Dubai-based pet relocation service provider, for customers in Bahrain, Brazil, Cyprus, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Netherlands, Portugal, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, UAE and UK.

flydubai animal welfare services include full veterinary check-ups, feeding, walking, pet grooming and administering medicine.

Airline vice president Cargo Mohamed Hassan said: “Since we began our operations in 2012, we have been focused on offering customers consistent and efficient cargo solutions and we are delighted that we will now be able to offer live animal transportation.”

Last year the Cargo department became the first in the airfreight industry to complete a proof of concept using blockchain technology for e-AWBs.

A regional airline owned by the Dubai government and a partner of Emirates Airline, flydubai operates 62 B737-800 and MAX 8 aircraft.
