MUNICH: October 02, 2018. LS International Cargo recently chartered a Volga-Dnepr An-124-100 to deliver a Krones bottle-filling machine plus ancillary equipment to Entebbe, Uganda for Crown Beverages Limited.
The machinery was delivered from a Krones production facility near Munich Airport and will be used to boost Crown’s production volume in order to guarantee timely product delivery throughout Uganda and East Africa.
“The ideal location of our regional operational base in Leipzig, Germany, with available operations personnel and essential loading equipment, made it possible to save time while organizing on-site visits to Munich for cargo inspection,” explained Ekaterina Andreeva, Volga-Dnepr UK Commercial manager.
“Accessibility of the airplane at our local operational base in Germany made the costs for positioning the aircraft minimal and the charter flight attractive for our customer price-wise,” she added.
Last year the company experienced a 21 percent increase in tonnage and a 28 percent rise in charter flights delivering different types of out-of-gauge equipment for energy and heavy machinery customers.
Crown Beverages was founded and incorporated as Lake Victoria Bottling Company (LVBC) on March 29,1950 by the Uganda government. In 1965, LVBC became the Pepsi Cola franchise in Uganda and started bottling global soft drinks. In December 1997 the company acquired new shareholders and adopted its current name.
