MADRID: October 12, 2018. Spanish shipping and logistics company Pérez y Cía has agreed to acquire CFS Caribbean Feeder Services from Harren & Partner. Terms were not disclosed.

CFS launched an independent feeder service in the Caribbean in 1999 with a fleet of vessels managed by Harren & Partner. Today the Miami-based company operates 16 vessels ranging from 700 TEU to 1,400 TEU calling at 28 ports in the Caribbean with connections in all major transshipment hubs.

It is the reliable long-term partner we were looking for,” said Peter Harren, founder and managing director of Harren & Partner. “We believe that this acquisition will give CFS a very strong position for the future.

“All of our vessels deployed in the CFS fleet will remain with CFS, ensuring their long-term use. CFS will grow even bigger and stronger together with Pérez y Cía”, he added.

The Pérez y Cía. Group was founded by Angel Bernardo Pérez in 1853 with a ship's agency in Santander and commissioning trade with Cuba using two brigantines. By 1979 the company had expanded into the Americas with a focus on the Caribbean, Colombia and Panamá.

Today it is one of the largest shipping and logistics organisations in Spain with 20 offices across the Iberian Peninsula and Canary Islands.
