DUBAI: October 30, 2018. Emirates SkyCargo has signed an MoU with the Investment and Tourism Promotion Centre of Ho Chi Minh City (ITPC) to jointly explore opportunities to promote trade to and from Vietnam.

Over the last decade the air cargo carrier has increased the number of freighter and passenger flights to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, offering incremental support to Vietnamese businesses to reach their global customers.

During its last financial year Emirates SkyCargo transported nearly 50,000 tonnes of Vietnamese exports and imports - an increase of approximately 66 percent year-on-year - and saw a near fivefold increase in the volume of perishables to Dubai on behalf of Vietrade.

Currently the airline offers a total weekly cargo capacity of over 1,400 tonnes for Vietnam exports and imports.

In the last five years Emirates SkyCargo has carried 160,000 tonnes to and from Vietnam with 47,000 tonnes of exports from Ho Chi Minh City and a further 65,000 tonnes from Hanoi.
