SEATTLE: December 21, 2018, Amazon is to lease an additional 10 B767-300 freighters over the next two years from the Air Transport Services Group (ATSG), adding to an initial contract for 20 aircraft signed in 2016.

Amazon Air’s operation now operates 40 aircraft from over 20 US airports. “Our customers love massive selection and fast delivery, and the Amazon Air capacity we are building enables Prime delivery speeds for customers from Seattle, Washington to Miami, Florida,” commented Dave Clark, Amazon senior vice president of Worldwide Operations.

The company says it will open a new Regional Air Hub next year at the Fort Worth Alliance Airport and its new hub at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport will launch services in 2021. Amazon has also announced a new air gateway will open in Wilmington, Ohio in 2019 in addition to the expansion of operations in Rockford, Illinois.
