Fuel a more sustainable future

BRUSSELS: February 01, 2019. Worldwide Flight Services, Brussels Airport Company and property developer Montea have opened a new logistics facility to the west of the airport’s cargo zone. The building, which began construction eight months ago, has a total surface area of 8,700 sq.mt.

The new building is part of an ambitious development project in the cargo zone of Brussels Airport. On the west side a 50,000 sq.mt. building will be built rthis year. In the next two years  €100 million will be invested in area.

"This new ultra-modern building developed with two of our most important partners is important for the Belgian logistics sector. It fits in perfectly with our strategy for the sustainable development of the logistics activities of Brussels Airport," explained Arnaud Feist, CEO of Brussels Airport Company.

"Brussels Airport once again confirms its role as a hub for logistics activities in Belgium and Europe. These developments allows us to support the many companies that increasingly use Brussels airport for importing and exporting goods to and from the entire world, and this in an even more efficient and effective manner," he added.

Marc Claesen, regional vice president WFS Northern Europe said: “For WFS, this new cutting-edge complex will allow us to continue to offer our clients efficient services with the best requirements in terms of safety and security while meeting the modern requirements of e-commerce and air transport of pharmaceutical products.”
