DRESDEN: February 02, 2019. Egyptair Cargo has taken re-delivery of its second passenger-to-freighter (P2F) A330-200 conversion. The 13 year-old aircraft was converted during the 2nd half of 2018.
According to EFW, the carrier is replacing several A300-600P2F freighters as it upgrades and modernises its cargo capabilities using the A330-200P2F’s enhanced range, volume and payload characteristics.
This is the fourth EFW conversion and re-delivery including A330-300P2Fs for type launch customer DHL that has firm orders for eight with options for another 10. EFW has now begun a third A330-200P2F conversion for Egypt Air.
Launched in 2012, the conversion programme has two variants – the A330-200P2F and the larger A330-300P2F.
The aircraft can carry up to 61 tonnes of structural payload 3,900 nautical miles, while offering significant volumetric capabilities with 26 main deck and 32 lower deck positions. EFW says the -300 is ideal for serving the international express B2B and e-commerce cargo markets, which typically have a higher volume and lower density.
