PARIS: May 15, 2019. Five months after the ECS Group launched its #NexGenLeaders challenge to discover new logistics industry talent, the company has chosen 10 projects for final consideration by an industry Grand Jury.

ECS Group NextGen LeadersThe selection stage culminated on May 13 when 50 teams, coached by mentors for almost two months, presented their projects live and in person to the ECS Group.

Ten finalists were selected from over 200 innovative entrants produced by 1,000 participants. All win passes to Air Cargo Europe at transport logistic in Munich next month.

Meanwhile their submissions are being reviewed by a distinguished #NexGenLeaders Grand Jury who will select three winners to be announced in Munich: the best student project, best startup project, and best ECS Group employee project.

From the students the finalists are MHTV, a new packaging method for cargo waste management; Each % Counts, a solution to optimize the empty space in cargo planes to upgrade it in a sustainable & social way; BTeam, an ecosystem that deals with the whole aircraft decommissioning process; and Augmented by DCK, improving shipment acceptance, handling and pallet build-up via augmented reality.

The start-up finalists produced CLIVE - The Selfie App, a unique data service for cargo airlines; Cargonow, a platform for comparing, tracking and booking airfreight capacities; Aviationchain, a ULD tracking mesh network with a web interface; and Leg-2.com, a tailor-made solution allowing an airline to partially or totally outsource its mail activity.

And from ECS Group employees worldwide are BCS Leaders, an online tool to connect all the employees of a company worldwide; and Cargo Assistant, a voice assistant tool that performs a range of tasks.

The #NexGenLeaders Grand Jury includes Eric Wilson, managing director, Global Cargo Sales, Delta Air Lines; Guillaume Halleux, chief officer Cargo, Qatar Airways; Ingrid Raj, vice president Aviation, DHL Express – AP; Sebastiaan Scholte, current chairman of TIACA; Steven Polmans, head of Cargo and Logistics – Brussels Airport Company; Lucas Kuehner, global head of Air Freight, Panalpina; Valérie Marchand Battard, head of Corporate Communication, WFS; Camilo Garcia, director of Sales, Marketing and Product, IAG Cargo; Adrien Thominet, CEO, ECS Group; Cédric Millet, chief Strategy & Digital officer, ECS Group; and Audrey Serdjebi, head of Marketing & Communication, ECS Group.
