HONG KONG: May 31, 2019. Unilode Aviation Solutions is to begin operating a 3,000-square metre ULD and galley cart repair centre in Hong Kong following expected certification by the Civil Aviation Department and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency.
The facility will also be used as a storage centre for Unilode's newly-launched ULD leasing service, and as a logistics, storage and repair centre for Envirotainer.
"With Hong Kong being the largest cargo airport in the world, it made strategic sense for us to add this location to Unilode's global MRO footprint [for] our long-standing ULD management customer Cathay Pacific Airways and to all our other ULD management and MRO customers,” said Unilode CEO Benoît Dumont.
“This new location will allow us to strengthen our partnership with Envirotainer, the global leader in cool containers, and expand the storage network for Unilode's new short- and medium-term ULD leasing services," he continued.
Envirotainer operates regional centres in Frankfurt, Irving, Texas and Singapore plus over 50 service stations supported by 320 employees. The company develops, manufactures and leases FAA/EASA-certified, clean and functional containers as well as innovative tools and services for validation, planning, shipping, and follow-up of temperature-controlled air transport.
