HAMBURG: August 21, 2019. ANL, Hapag-Lloyd, Maersk and ONE are to expand their Oceania product with the introduction of a S.E. Asia to Australia loop service.
Beginning October 23 from Laem Chabang, Thailand, Loop 2 (SEA) includes calls at Singapore, Port Kelang before heading to Western Australia with a call at Fremantle then on to Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
Loop 3 (S2A) begins October 25 from Tanjung Pelepas, Malaysia with calls at Port Kelang and Singapore before heading to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Fremantle and Jakarta.
SEA will be operated by seven 8,500 TEU vessels and six 5,700 TEU vessels will cover the S2A loop with one vessel from Hapag-Lloyd for each service.
“Connecting via Singapore on our global mainline network, we will be able to offer increased sailing frequency to and from Australian ports, with more connections and shipping options in both directions for Middle East and India Subcontinent”, explained Alice Yin Chung Tham, Hapag-Lloyd senior director Trade Management Intra Asia.
The new services are expected to provide three weekly connections between Singapore and Australia; access to four weekly services between North Europe and Singapore; three weekly services between the Mediterranean and Singapore; plus a wide range of feeder connections to and from Europe.
