PRESS RELEASE

September 22, 2014: Air France-KLM-Martinair Cargo and va-Q-tec Ltd. are proud to announce their cooperation on the temperature controlled transportation of pharmaceutical and biotechnological goods worldwide.

Eelco van Asch, Senior Vice President Sales & Distribution at Air France-KLM-Martinair Cargo and Dominic Hyde, Managing Director va-Q-tec Ltd. signed the partnership agreement in Amsterdam that enables forwarders and shippers to rent va-Q-tec containers directly through Air France-KLM-Martinair Cargo and return containers at 80 airports worldwide.

"As a leading carrier, Air France-KLM-Martinair Cargo continuously searches for innovative and reliable solutions that serve the pharma industry better. We are glad to win va-Q-tec as a partner to expand our Variation Pharma Solutions. This partnership supports Air France-KLM-Martinair Cargo's market leadership in Reliable Passive Cold Chain Solutions targeting the replacement of single use packaging. In certain cases, these solutions fulfill customer needs even better than active containers," said Eelco van Asch after the signing ceremony.

In their meeting, Air France-KLM-Martinair Cargo and va-Q-tec expressed their strong mutual interest to move forward as partners to enable the deviation-free transportation of life-saving pharmaceuticals to patients worldwide.

"va-Q-tainer containers are the cost-efficient and low-risk cold chain alternative. We offer an open platform, turn-key solution that meets current regulatory requirements and evolving Bio Pharma shipper needs for innovative temperatures. To answer the growing market demand for our solutions, we will have increased our global container fleet to 500 containers by the end of this year," said Dominic Hyde during the va-Q-tainer XL container presentation in the Netherlands.

va-Q-tec rental containers, called va-Q-tainers and va-Q-cases, are passive containers using vacuum insulation technology in the container shell and phase change materials inside. The shipment temperatures range from -50°C to +25°C and provide unique solutions for the safe transportation of APIs and other healthcare products without dry ice, revolutionizing the Variation Pharma service by providing unbroken cold chains.

Through this cooperation, Air France-KLM-Martinair Cargo targets the replacement of single use packaging in its network to minimize waste of valuable resources worldwide.
